2023 FAW Women’s & Girls’ Cup Finals to be Held at Penydarren Park

The 2023 FAW Women’s Cup and FAW Girls’ Cup finals will take place at Penydarren Park in Merthyr on Sunday 23 April.

Cardiff City and Briton Ferry Llansawel will battle it out to lift the FAW Women’s Cup, with the game getting under way at 12:45pm. It will be broadcast live on S4C, BBC iPlayer, S4C Clic and Sgorio’s Facebook and YouTube.

Cardiff City – the current holders of the competition after their 2-0 win over Cardiff Met in last season’s final – beat the Archers in the semi-final this term to seal their place in the final.

Meanwhile, Genero Adran South leaders Briton Ferry pulled off a shock in the previous round as they earned a convincing 3-0 win over top-flight side Aberystwyth Town at Richmond Park.

The two teams last met in the last 16 of the Genero Adran Trophy final earlier in the campaign, where Cardiff City earned a 3-1 victory over Ferry at Old Road.

Later in the day, Barry Town United and Abergavenny will compete in this season’s FAW Girls’ Cup final, with kick-off at 5:30pm at Penydarren Park.

Barry beat CPD Henllan 6-1 in the last four to reach the final and Abergavenny earned a 4-1 victory over Cardiff Cosmopolitan in the other semi-final.
