Cymru Squad Announced for UEFA #WU17EURO Qualifiers

The 2022/2023 UEFA #WU17EURO qualifiers get underway on Sunday, and Nia Davies has selected 20-players to travel to Israel for the tournament’s First Round.

Cymru start the campaign in League B Group 5 and have been drawn alongside the hosts and Montenegro. The first match against Montenegro will take place on Sunday 30 October (KO 9:30GMT) before facing Israel on Wednesday 2nd November (KO 13:00GMT).

Several players selected play for the FAW’s Girls Academy sides and for sides in the Adran Leagues system. The teams in League B (including sides relegated from League A in 2021/22 round 2) compete for promotion to League A in six groups. The six group winners and the runners-up with the best record against the teams first and third in their section will be promoted. League A round 2 next spring (drawn on 7 December) will decide the seven teams joining Estonia in the 2023 finals running from 14 to 26 May.
