FAW Nominee Harry Hendricks Appointed as a FIFA Match Official

Harry Hendricks will represent Cymru on the World Stage after being selected to be a FIFA Assistant Referee.

Hendricks, who is a Cymru Premier Assistant Referee, has previously officiated on the international stage. His first international appearance was in 2017 when Cymru U17 faced Hungary.

He officiated his first UEFA International match in 2022 when Armenia U21 faced Ukraine.

Hendricks said: “It’s a privilege every time I get to step out and represent Cymru at any level, let alone on an international stage.

“Being nominated by the FAW to be a FIFA Match Official is the ultimate honour for any referee in Wales. I’m looking forward to the new challenges that it will bring.”

He added, “It’s all a bit surreal at this moment in time. I’m sure it will sink in eventually.

“You don’t really start out refereeing and think that in 15 years’ time you will end up as a FIFA Match Official, it goes to show that hard work and dedication go a long way.”
