Rob Page Announces New Backroom Staff

Cymru manager Rob Page has announced two new additions to his backroom staff ahead of the UEFA EURO 2024 qualifying campaign getting underway this month.

Manchester United’s Eric Ramsay will be joining the Cymru setup as Assistant Coach, combining the role with his current work as a First Team Coach for Erik Ten Hag. A UEFA Pro Licence coach originally from mid-Wales, Ramsay started his coaching career at Swansea City before working at Shrewsbury Town and Chelsea prior to joining Manchester United. Ramsay obtained his Pro Licence through the FAW Coach Education system and has supported the FAW’s Elite Coach Education a tutor.

Nick Davies will also be joining Rob Page’s setup as the new Head of Performance. Davies currently works at West Ham United under David Moyes and has previously worked in Head of Sports Science / Performance roles for several clubs during their time in the English Premier League, including Charlton Athletic, Birmingham City, Norwich City and West Bromwich Albion. Davies also has strong Welsh roots, born and bred in Port Talbot with his father previously managing the club. Davies will also be combining the role alongside his work at West Ham United.

“Nick and Eric will be two great additions to our staff. Nick has a wealth of experience having been involved in top clubs and Eric is arguably one of the best young coaches in football at this moment in time. The changes give us an opportunity to build on our success, by drip feeding new players into the squad at the right times. Hopefully in the next twelve months we’ll then have the next batch of players to represent Wales at the top level.”
